Laughing and Crying with Linda |
|
A few weeks ago our family circumstances changed. My thesaurus defines "change" as modify, alter, rearrange, or transform. Three of our teenage grandchildren are now living with us. Modify... to say the least; transform... definitely.

As I was thinking of something funny to contribute to this column, I wondered, "Am I laughing lately, or crying?" Well, I realized that even though I cry about five times every day, I am LAUGHING uproariously about 14 times every day. So alrighty then!!! On with the humor!!
As we grow old…
Old accountants never die, they just lose their balance.
Old bankers never die, they just lose interest.
Old beekeepers never die, they just buzz off.
Old cashiers never die, they just check out.
Old chauffeurs never die, they just lose their drive.
Old hardware engineers never die, they just cache in their chips.
Old doctors never die, they just lose their patience.
Old farmers never die, they just go to seed.
Having teenagers in the house, and working in the senior market, have caused me to notice that there are MANY similarities between these two groups of people.
Both teens and seniors like to hang around the mall and eat at fast food restaurants.
They each have developed their own “walk.”
Both groups like to wear clothing that doesn’t fit well.
They seem to have questionable facial hair.
They are connoisseurs of two kinds of fine music…loud and VERY LOUD.
Both groups are randomly accused of having questionable driving habits, and have trouble parking their car.
The females in both groups tend to have weird hair colors.
Members of both groups have developed “selective hearing.”
Both teens and seniors have a penchant for forgetfulness.
Both use their own slang to confuse other family members.
Well, keep on smiling and laughing,
God is good,
Life is good.
Love you all, Linda K.
